Your Team Needs Your Support

The Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team (BCSAR) has started its annual telephone fundraising campaign for 2012.

The team is celebrating it’s 50 Year Anniversary of dedicated, professional volunteer service to the citizens of Butte County. BCSAR is the only recognized and Sheriff-authorized search and rescue team in Butte County and should not to be confused with any non-local search and rescue unit.

Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization and does not receive any tax-funded financial support. The team relies solely upon the generous donations of the community it serves, and whatever fundraising efforts it may undertake. The donations received directly pay for the ongoing and necessary maintenance and replacement of lifesaving equipment and specialized member training. There are no paid staff within the unit.

From now through May 2012, you may receive a call at your business or residence requesting your financial support of the team. If you miss the phone call and would still like to help, you can mail a check or money order for any amount to: 2530 Zanella Way #B, Chico, CA 95928.

The team recognizes the difficult economic times we all live under and the potential inconvenience phone solicitation calls may cause, but we respectfully ask the residents of Butte County to please be considerate of the telemarketers who call; they are doing their job to support their families, and trying to help the Butte County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team in continuing its service and support to our community.

Thank you in advance for any financial help you can offer.
