The men and women who volunteer on the Butte County Search and Rescue Team give up their time to make the community safer, and don't ask for much. But now the organization is running low on funding, and needs donations from Butte County residents.

Thanks to a brand new Sno-Cat, Butte County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team were able to rescue a missing Paradise man Monday morning. According to the Sheriff's Office, Ricky Lanser, 51, left Ferguson Dr. residence on Saturday morning in a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup truck "en route to a frequented spot for woodcutting on the S Line out of Inskip."

Butte and Yuba Counties search and rescue crews and volunteers kept busy on Monday, looking for 41-year-old Loren Harvey Jr. He went missing Friday, October 15th. Butte County Search and Rescue Sgt. Anthony Borgman told Action News, "We're up somewhere in the near 3,000 foot elevation, an area where a lot of forest, a lot of trees, pretty rough terrain."

Search resumes on Sacramento river for missing Glenn man

ORD BEND - Glenn County sheriff's personnel resumed their search this morning for Glenn resident James John Haidl, 62, who fell into the Sacramento River from a capsized canoe Monday afternoon.
His rowing partner, Bob Heberle, 60, of Woodland, was able to swim to a gravel bar, where he was rescued.

A Chico man faces criminal charges following a huge rescue effort Wednesday night in Upper Bidwell Park. Rescuers say they found 44-year-old Eric Cooper just after 7 p.m. drunk and belligerent near the creek at Bear Hole near the diversion dam. They went searching for Cooper after his girlfriend reported him overdue from a walk with this three dogs.

Rescue personnel spent two hours Sunday rescuing a quadriplegic women after she took a 75-to-80 feet fall off a cliff alongside a park trail.
Tera Holst, a quadriplegic, and Miles Eckert, a paraplegic, were in electric wheelchairs or scooters on a trail in Bille Park when both fell off the path. The trail slopes towards the cliff and was marked with signs "use at your own risk."

About 10,000 tubers floated down the Sacramento River on Sunday, but despite the high numbers, no serious incidents were reported. Law enforcement agencies said the numbers were higher than previous years, but people seemed to be less rowdy.

INSKIP - Search and rescue teams are scouring the area above Inskip today for a Paradise man and his three children who failed to return Sunday night from a trip to the Philbrook area.
Frederick Dominguez, 38; his 18-year-old son, Christopher Dominguez; daughter Alexis Dominguez, 15; and son Josh Dominguez,12, were reported missing at about 6:20 p.m. Monday by Lisa Sams of Paradise. Sams is Frederick Dominguez's ex-wife and shares custody of the children.

According to nearly a dozen witnesses, the driver of a red Honda barely slowed as she turned off the Skyway at Lookout Point and accelerated over the cliff.
The victim of the apparent suicide was identified as a young female adult from Chico, but not immediately named.

Witness Julie George said she was behind the Honda, traveling west on the Skyway just after 11:40 a.m., when it suddenly turned right at the narrow entrance to Lookout Point.
