Butte County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Needs Your Support During This Week of Giving

Week of Giving

We are honored to announce that we are a part of the first annual Week of Giving hosted by the North Valley Community Foundation that begins today. This weeklong event is an exclusively online fundraising event open to all nonprofit public charities in Butte, Tehama, Colusa, and Glenn counties and charitable funds of the North Valley Community Foundation. The event is designed to further the power of community-wide fundraising efforts.

Why Give to Us?

As you know, Butte County has battled disaster after disaster over the past several years. We have been on the frontlines for all of these incidents, and it was our pleasure to be there. That is why we volunteer.

However, our response does not come without cost. Being one of California’s busiest search and rescue teams, especially over the past few years, creates thousands of dollars in equipment repair and replacement expenses. On top of that, we also spend a significant amount of money training each of our volunteer members so they meet our team and county’s high standards.

Any amount helps!

Our Value to the Community

In 2020 our all-volunteer team has given over 11,000 hours of their time to training and responding to incidents. This equates to at least $353,000 in value to our community.
