BCSAR Member Spotlight: Brittany!

➡️ What made you want to join BCSAR? I love helping people, and I was looking for a place to volunteer in my free time. I saw a lot of rescues that were able to happen because of the people who volunteer with BCSAR, and the special equipment they train with and knew that would be the perfect place.

➡️ On average, how many hours per month do you give to BCSAR? 10-20 depending on my work schedule, SAR trainings, and callouts.

➡️ Where do you work? I’m employed as an EMT with Enloe/Butte County EMS.

➡️ Other than SAR, what do you like to do in your free time? Anything outdoors. I’ve been riding horses since I was 8 years old and currently have two senior horses who I love spending time with. Working out has been a lifelong passion. I also enjoy mountain biking, hiking and fishing, and spending time with my husband.

➡️ What is your favorite part of being on the team? Honestly, the people that make up BCSAR have been one of my favorite parts. They are amazingly supportive, fun, and always willing to go the extra mile to help you. The skills you learn can be applied to real-life situations and just make you feel like a more confident person overall. Hanging off the side of a helicopter isn’t bad either.
