Operation Rescue Ready

Growing with Our Community

Thank you Butte County!

We want to send out a HUGE THANK YOU! Because of your support, we were able to meet our 2023 match goal of $100,000 from the Emil & Leonora Stiefvater Senior Endowment! That means every dollar you donated during the final quarter of 2023 was DOUBLED by this generous foundation! We truly could not have made this goal without all of your support.
Now that we’ve started off strong, we must focus on our long-term goal of raising $1.5 million to build our new home and headquarters! There are multiple ways to support our mission of providing volunteer search, technical rescue, fire evacuation, and incident management free of charge to all residents and visitors of Butte County.

Buy a Brick!

Put Your Support for Butte SAR on Display

Take the opportunity to make your support for Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue a permanent fixture of our new headquarters through our customizable brick program. You, your family, your business or organization can now personalize one of two different size bricks to include text, logos, or other artwork. These bricks will then be used in the entrance patio area of our new building. Help Search and Rescue build its new home and leave your mark by personalizing a brick!

A Growing Team

Over the past 20 years, our team has grown to support the expanding population of Butte County. Five years ago, our team had just three response vehicles. Now that number has more than tripled. Our current headquarters offers just 3000 sq ft of equipment storage and the team has outgrown its current location.

We are in need of a parcel of land with room to construct a new HQ capable of housing all of our equipment while keeping response times low.

Members of the Community

Our team has always relied on the generosity and support of our local community. We have been through so much together – devastating wildfires, spillway failures, and winters that have brought entire towns to a halt. You have supported us through it all and enabled us to continue to focus on what matters most: saving lives.

We envision our new facility as a hub for Search and Rescue training and equipment storage as well as a location for community disaster preparedness education.
