2021 Phone Fundraiser

The Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Unit, an all-volunteer auxiliary unit of the Butte County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting their 2019 fundraising phone solicitation. This fundraising campaign will kick off during the month of January 2020 and will be continuing through July 2020.

Air Operations

Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, Inc. is one of the most active SAR units in California.  In calendar year 2019, our volunteers responded to over 100 incidents, participated in over 200 exercises, and committed thousands of hours of service to the citizens of Butte County.

Butte County Search and Rescue Volunteers are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Team members respond to many different types of incidents, including searches for lost or missing persons, technical/over the edge rescues, air rescues, swift water and dive rescues, mountain and remote area rescues, wildland fire and flood evacuations, as well as providing technical assistance to local law enforcement agencies.  These dedicated individuals take time away from home, work, family and friends to respond to emergencies.

Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, Inc. is very grateful to the citizens of Butte County for their continued support over the past 58 years. The Butte County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue unit has a sizeable number of vehicles and rolling stock that are used on Search and Rescue incidents.  Donations from the community help purchase and maintain critical equipment, and provide opportunities for additional emergency response training.
